Peaceful Forest, Gold Splash!, .1 mm Copic Multiline pen, Ivory cardstock, Versafine Onyx ink – A Muse Studio

Somehow, somewhere I came across a card that Hermine Koster made for Viva Las VegaStamps and I was smitten.  I had to recreate it for myself using the Peaceful Forest rubber stamp set…my last two posts have featured this stamp: hopefully you are not sick of it!   You only have until the 31st of December to snatch up the Holiday Catalog stamps and accessories.

To make this card I used some watercolor crayons that I’ve had on hand for years.  Next time I do this watercolor technique  I will use our Bristol watercolor cardstock because the Ivory did buckle a little from all the water I used.  Here’s my steps:

  1.  I scribbled some greens and a blue across my wet tree stamp.
  2.  Next, I lightly spritzed the colored stamp with some water.
  3.  Then, I stamped the tree three times, without re”inking” or coloring, I should say!
  4. While my brush was wet, I picked up some of the crayons and colored a strip of cardstock.  After it was dry, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine ink.
  5. Once the card had dried well, I outlined the trees with my copic multiline pen.

To finish it off, I flicked some extra colored “water” that I picked up from the stamp with my water brush.  At the last moment I decided to also splatter on some Gold Splash (you can see a bit of the shimmer in the lower right corner).

I’d like to enter into these challenges:
