Thank you for stopping by and checking out this week’s Amusing Challenge – it’s a winter/snow theme this week which is in keeping with the frigid temps all around the United States this week!  Throughout the month I’ll have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. I will have a Weekly Winner and at the end of the month, those 4-5 winners will go into a prize drawing for one lucky Grand Prize winner.  January’s Prize Winner will receive 5 assorted die cuts of the Berry Box die that is part of February’s Special Collection.

Before we get started,  I wanted to officially welcome Tricia Roberson to our design team!  I’m so excited because she is so inspiring and if you missed Tricia’s thank you card for the current Amusing Challenge, you can see it here.

Cyndi really wowed me this week with this sponged sunset background.  She used the retired A Muse Studio stamp set, Winter Stag and then sponged a mixture of red and orange inks.  Cyndi added some wonderful snow details with Le Pouf, the orange satin ribbon and slate/onyx cardstock – all from A Muse Studio.

I had a lot of fun creating my winter/snow card and used quite a few stamps from A Muse Studio.  The “thank you” and “much” are from the Thank You Mix stamp set and I thought it would be fun to substitute the word “snow” from Cozy Back instead of “so”.  After I embossed a portion of the Snow Day Background stamp set in White embossing powder (both from amuse studio), I scored around the edges to give it a bit more definition.  My card base is Kraft and I cut the Fish Tail tag die from Bermuda cardstock.  This stitched die and the tiny heart (from My Punny Valentine) are from A Muse Studio’s January collection – only available THIS month!).  I stamped the hearts in Blush ink and that matched A Muse Studio’s Blush baker’s cording perfectly.
