This week’s theme and monthly prize
Happy Leap Year … my niece almost was a leap year baby (my sister was glad she wasn’t) and a friend is going to a wedding on 2/29 at 2:29! No Leap Year challenges here but since it’s the end of the month, that means this week’s Amusing Challenge is Anything Goes. Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc. Based on reader input late last year, I will be changing up the way I award my monthly prize! We’ll still have the Top 3 winners but now every participant that plays along will earn a chance to win the random drawing for my prize package at the end of the month. For the month of February, the prize winner will receive this retired Amuse Studio egg die. It measures 1.2575” x 1.5922” and is perfect for card making and scrapbooking.
Design Team Inspiration
I want to introduce you to a new Design Team member!! Sandi is an Amuse Studio consultant on my team and will be joining us once a month. If you are interested in designing once a month with Amuse Studio stamps, please let me know – we’d love to have you join us!
Sandi has a great style and you are going to be really inspired by her work. Here she used Grow, one of the red rubber stamp sets from Amuse Studio’s February Collection. I love the CAS design but Sandi has managed to pack it full of beautiful details – like the tiny paper piece heart in the sentiment!
amuse studio supplies: Grow stamp set (February Collection), matching Grow dies, Kraft, Sky and Grapefruit Petite Polka Dot cardstock, onyx baker’s twine, Copics
Cynid is with us this week with a fun scrappy card. She used the reverse die cut from Amuse Studio’s butterfly trio die set. It’s just such a fun look! I am always amazed at the details Cyndi manages to put into her cards – and the variety of different styles. She is chock full of cardmaking ideas and I know you must find her inspirational – I do!! I had forgotten how many times over the past few years I’ve used the butterfly trio die set myself…it’s one of amuse studio’s original dies and although I have many favorites, this one caught my eye from this summer. (You can use the search button or catagories tab on my sidebar if you are ever looking for something in particular.)
amuse studio supplies: Essential Sentiments Too stamp set, Butterfly Trio die set, Large Scalloped Border die, Apple, Cherry Petite Pinstripe, and Onyx cardstock, Everything’s Rosy 6×6 paper pack, White embossing powder, Arrow Slim Washi tape (previous Monthly Collection – available while supplies last), Rainbow 4 mm sequins, Cranberry Pearl stickers
I have been on a watercoloring kick this month for my favorite rubber stamping technique. Does that happen to you? Maybe it’s because all the supplies are already out and easy to find…but I’m sure next month something new will catch my fancy. I do love watercoloring though whether it’s with Tombow markers, Peerless watercolor paints or like here, with Splash.
I am always in need of thank you cards but I wanted to keep this card soft looking. So, I repeatedly stamped the Thank You sentiment from amuse studio’s Today and Always in a variety of same toned inks. It’s really a very simple CAS card and came together quickly once I embossed my image from the Grow stamp set found in Amuse Studio’s February Collection. Did you know that Amuse Studio’s Vellum cardstock embossed beautifully and you can really have fun results when you watercolor on it as I did here and this pretty birthday card here.
amuse studio supplies: Grow stamp set (February Collection), Today and Always stamp set, Stitched Circle die, Vellum cardstock, Pebble and Sugar cardstock, Pebble and Latte ink, Bubblegum 4 mm sequins, White embossing powder, Lichen, Grapefruit, French Roast and Bermuda Splash
I hope you join us!
