heARTful stamping challenge – embossing

This week’s theme and monthly prize

Last weekend I was a bit lazy and got my blog post up later than I had hoped – so it didn’t make the Paper Playful posting.  Yikes!  Today I am back on track – despite having my Open House tomorrow.  If you want, you can still enter last week’s challenge since it won’t close until tonight at midnight!  You can find it here.

This week’s heARTful stamping Challenge is a embossing (the hot kind!).

Throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  I figure with Valentine’s Day coming up soon (yeah, yeah…I know – don’t rush ahead!) this would be a fun Washi tape to add to your collection.  It’s called Everyday Life from Close To My Heart.

This Week’s Inspiration

I just love that little speech bubble from CTMH’s new set called Some Kinda Wonderful in their newest Seasonal Expressions catalog.  I thought the heart would look cute inside of it and see that little sentiment banner that reads “dream big”?  That is from the tiny stripe on top of the Some Kinda Wonderful CTMH 12 x 12 big circle paper that I used here.  Each of their designer papers has a different type of strip that you can cut of and it coordinates with that particular paper series.  I love it!  If my turtle looks familiar, I’ll confess he was a left over from a batch of thank you cards I made here.

The second card I am sharing today is based off of Muse Challenge #198.  It’s a little different from a true sketch challenge but the idea is similar.  I had this card idea in my head all week and finally had a chance to make it!   It feels good to be going back into my drawers of  paper and start using up some things like this Navy DCWV. The stars are from CTMH’s Charming Cascades stamp set and the sentiment is from one of the Close To My Heart’s Straight to the Top incentives that I earned.

It’s definitely a super CAS card but I love the gold embossing!

  1. Like heat embossing. I like to watch the embossing powder change when heated.
Was wondering if you knew about the blog link problem that I seem to have since you changed your blog name? When I make a link to put in my blog post if I put it in challenge ending date order like I usually do I can not get the link to work, when I click on it nothing happens; the link appears to have disappeared. If I cut & paste it and insert at end of my blog post then it works correctly. Does anyone else have this problem? Look at my blog post and you will see that I have the link at end of the challenges entered instead of in date 1/21 order.

  2. A fantastic interpretation using the layout of my card. Super classy in the deep blue with the gold stars, and I love the sentiment strip too.
Thanks so much for playing along at Muse this week, Anita x
