March’s prize winner will receive this sweat Easter basket stamp from CTMH – it’s just $2.95 if you don’t want to wait to see if you win it! 🙂
This Week’s Inspiration
I had a super successful cardmaking weekend as I mentioned at the top – well, almost 100% successful! As I was finishing up this card I noticed a bright orange stain at the TOP 1/2 inch of my card. I have no idea what I set the card down onto – or, if something was on my hand. argh… I ended up cutting the card down and rounding a corner to make up for it’s short size. It was (is!) such a pretty card that I hated to throw it away. Can you relate?! I watercolored these flowers from CTMH’s Cheslea Gardens cardmaking stamp set with Tombow markers – even the leaves have just a touch of light grey but I wanted them to be less bold. This Scalloped Border is on sale this month (with all of CTMH’s thin cut dies!)!

I love to watercolor! There are lots of mediums that I like to use but for this card I wanted a bold, pop of color. I stamped and black embossed these rainboots from CTMH’s Mother’s Garden stamp set (you can find this wonderful set in their Seasonal Expressions 1 catty) on watercolor paper; and, then grabbed 4 bottles of Splash! inks that I had leftover from my time with amuse|studio. The navy blue seemed a little dark when I was done so I just did some quick highlighting on a couple of pairs of the boots with a white gel pen. I was tickled that it still worked! woohoo! I find if I don’t use my white gel pens regularly, they dry up prematurely – no matter the brand. I scored some line for “interest” with my Scor-Pal and then sentiment is retired CTMH. This card makes me happy!
