This month’s theme and monthly prize
Anything Goes + a stamp
April 15 – 22
What has your weather been like?!? We had upper 70’s here today (which is like 21 C) and I managed to get a lot of needed spring yard work done. But my parents got a sprinkling of snow and I even saw blizzard conditions for some areas. Our design team samples will have you dreaming of spring though, no matter what! So, welcome to this week’s new Anything Goes heARTful stamping challenge! We’re a great place to get and share some card making ideas for your rubber stamped cards.
If this is your first visit here, there are normally weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing. I happened to end up with an extra CTMH Birthday Time stamp set from last month so one lucky winner will receive this in April!
This Week’s Inspiration
I wanted to share a great card I spotted on CTMH’s Make It From Your Heart blog. It’s the perfect layout for using up the thin paper scraps we always seem to have left over when trimming down edges. I think this card looks wonderful with the Chelsea Gardens images stamped in grey and on vellum. The banner die is in CTMH’s current Seasonal Expressions 1 catty and learned that they will not carry forward.

I had a LOT of fun watercoloring this background. I randomly stamped the images from CTMH’s Mother’s Garden stamp set and embossed them in white. I found I got a nice bright color by laying down some ink with my Tombow markers and then I went over it with an aquabrush. I ended up using a Winter Sky Splash ink for the background because I felt I didn’t have enough contrast with a light blue in my first attempt. Be your own kind of beautiful is from a retired CTMH stamp set from last year.
