This month’s theme and monthly prize
CASE Yourself + a stamp
Jul 15 – Jul 29
Time to change things up a bit this month at the heARTful stamping challenge! It’s partially out of necessity, but I don’t want you to get bored either. I’ve noticed that it’s the regular players – I guess it’s the few of you who put up with my bad manners of not leaving some LOVE on your blogs. I apologize!!
This week I’ll be going to stay with my folks for a few weeks while we get ready for my mom to have open heart surgery…it’s pretty scary and I really don’t know how much time I will have to create…let along what I can fit into my carry-on! So here are the details!
Create a card this week and then CASE your own card! The challenge will run through July 29…so a full two weeks! You can enter two cards the first week – and then two new cards the second week, or you can create and enter a card (or 2) the first week and CASE yourself during the second week. You decide!
If this is your first visit – glad you popped in! We’re a great place to get and share some card making ideas for your rubber stamped cards. During the month of July Close To My Heart is holding it’s Stampaganza! You can click on the icon in my sidebar to find out more about this – buy 2 get 1 FREE stamp event.
There are normally weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing. July’s random prize winner will receive these beautiful 4 adhesive-backed wooden words; they measure 2″-3″ and are from the Documented CTMH line.
So for my first card to share is a card I orginally CASED from the Close To My Heart website – in the “back office” we have designers to help jump start our mojo and get ready for workshops. Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE being a CTMH consultant?!? We get the best support. Anyways – this card features one of my favorite stamp sets called Many Congratulations. You should know that this stamp set (along with every other one in the Annual Catalog!) is retiring at the end of August. I used watercolor pencils for my images and the strip of accent paper is from the Basics Fundamentals paper pack – it too is retiring! The sentiment is just one of the many “build your sentiment” options available in the Many Congratulations set.
CTMH supplies:Many Congratulations stamp set, White Daisy value card/envelope, Basic Fundamentals, Black Archival ink, Watercolor pencils, Watercolor paper Other: Stitched Circle die
I liked this layout so much – and had Nature’s Wish still out from my last card here – that I decided to CASE my top card. I stayed pretty true to the layout but there are some noticeable differences. For my “coloring” this time I did a watercolor wash of greens and blues to match the tone of Close To My Heart’s Fresh Air paper pack. Then once the watercolor circle were dry, I stamped my images in Nutmeg ink. That is one of 10 colors CTMH is retiring in August! It’s probably the one I will miss most out of the ten. The rest of the card came together so quickly…it’s really a beautiful masculine card.
CTMH supplies: Nature’s Wish stamp set, Fresh paper pack, White Daisy, New England Ivy and Nutmeg cardstock, Watercolor paper, Nutmeg ink, watercolor paints Other: Stitched circle die
I hope you join us!
