I have one week left of summer vacation and you’d think I’d be making super complicated cards right now…but, nope!! I’m in a clean and simple (CAS) state of mind. tee hee… If you missed my last post, you have to check it out! While those two cards were also CAS – they really felt elegant and beautiful. Close To My Heart’s Isabella scrapbooking stamp set is lovely and just makes a card look gorgeous, no matter what! Today’s two cards are also part of my “embrace the white space” YouTube video (you can check out my process and tips here). One of the best parts of these two cards is that I was able to create these cards using just one stamp set each…I know many of you appreciate that.
More About My Cards
I’ve been really focusing on the butterflies from CTMH’s Smiles From the Garden stamp set but decided to mix things up! These flowers are a fun, bold size and shape and are so easy to ink up. Did you know that CTMH offers many of their stamp sets with matching thin cut dies? It’s great to have options! One of my tips for “dressing” up a CAS card is to stamp and die cut your image. It’s not necessary for you to even pop it up…it still has the extra dimension without having to worry about extra postage, etc… For my flowers and the tiny butterfly, I opted to use some retiring CTMH colors (can you hear my wailing?!). Fern and Canary have been two of my favorites! Here is a quick reminder of all the beautiful colors retiring…
My next card came about from stamp sets still laying out from my previous Monday Motivation LIVE video! Does that happen to you that you leave out crafty items and get inspired? The Sunny Days Ahead stamp set coordinates beautifully with CTMH’s Build-a-Rainbow thin cut die set but it’s a great stand along set too. Talk about FAST cards! This one takes less than 10 min — probably even less than 5! In my YouTube video I teach you about the Rock n Roll technique. It’s a great way to add interest and dimension to bold stamps. Be sure to check it out! I love that here too everything I needed for this card was in one stamp set.
Enjoy your weekend!
