One of the new dies that caught my eye in Close To My Heart’s new May/June catalog is the Decorative Texture Background thin cut die. Before you ask, yes, all those little tiny specks are to pop out! I had a section that didn’t cut through but voila – great spots to place my flowers and sentiment. It turned out not to be a big deal. I am currently waiting on a Sizzix Precision plate to try with my large CTMH doily and I think it will work great with this die too. I’ll keep you posted. Basically you just have to keep adding cardboard or cardstock “shims” to your sandwich until it cuts evenly. I used a toothpick (fancy tool!) to knock out some of the little dots that stayed behind but a good snap on the back took care of most of these!
More About My Card!
In addition to the Decorative Texture Background thin cut die, I also used CTMH’s new Hope & Kindness stamp set. It’s part of their latest National Scrapbooking Month promotion and I love that the words have matching thin cut dies, as well as the flower sprigs. I find watercolor pencils are the quickest way to color images — especially flowers. This card came together very quickly when you consider all of the die cutting I did on it. Be sure to check out this promotion because the papers are gorgeous too! I decided to go with the product bundle because it was such a good value and gave me a LOT to work with. Stay tuned because I have some beautiful cards I can’t wait to share with you next week.
