This month’s theme and monthly prize

Heat Embossing + a stamp

Jul 16 – Jul 23

There are a lot of fun rubber stamping techniques out there and one of my favorites is still embossing with powders.  So, that will be this week’s focus at heARTful stamping challenge?  I hope you will like the design team’s rubber stamped cards and that they give you some card making ideas.  Normally throughout the month I have different sorts of challenges…”use it”, themes, sketch, etc.  There are weekly Top 3 winners and a random winner from all of the participants receives the monthly prize drawing.  You can also see last week’s heARTful stamping challenge which goes until Sunday night, midnight, right here.

July’s prize winner will receive this Petite Perks stamp set from CTMH.  They are tiny – perfect for a tag or on a card.

This Week’s Inspiration

Juliet always loves a challenge when making her cards so I handed her an old card kit from a class at least a year ago.  She got busy and I really love how striking the bear looks embossed.  It’s one of my favorite CTMH stamp sets and it’s called Jack – cardmaking.  That sounds strange but CTMH also has a paper packet called Jack and a Jack – scrapbooking stamp set that’s really super cute too!

I love the look of embossing on vellum and I was inspired by a card I saw on Instagram by janesdoodles.  It was gorgeous and I wanted to create something similar.  I used the now retired CTMH stamp set called Hello Lovely for the flowers and Happy Heart which is still in the base catalog and will be back another year.  pst!  I’m super excited that Close To My Heart will be carrying vellum again in its new catalog.

Some of you may know that I am a Kindergarten Instructional Aide – I just finished my first year.  It was great and I worked with a group of wonderful teachers.  I was excited to get my hands on CTMH’s September Stamp of the Month called School Days.  As a consultant I can order them early to get started on samples – and in this case, it was perfect for making cards for my fellow teachers.  I also used the School Days set for a few thank you notes.  It looks great with the chalkboard or black board look!

  1. I still see the entries from the last challenge in this new challenge. W0onderful DT heat embossed creations. Like heat embossing. I like to watch the embossing powder change when using heat tool. Will not be able to join CTMH as a demonstrator; not this mth at least. Hubby’s vehicle needed a new “bunny” (that’s what I call battery due to Energizer Bunny). Original was just over 4 yrs old. Worked closing of Hallmark Ornament Premiere yesterday and now off for couple days. Yeah! Bought some ornaments; of which fav is the 1st in series Cozy Christmas (a bird dressed for Winter). Like the Beetlejuice which recites the “Do you Think I’m Qualified” part from the movie that my daughter knows by heart and asked me to buy.

    1. Thanks for keeping me straight! Had both inlinkz codes displayed… Oh I understand about not being able to sign up right now. I am always keen on making sure it’s not a financial burden or bad timing. I bet working at Hallmark gives you lots of crafty ideas 🙂
